“Buone Visioni” retursn with the third edition of “Il Castello Errante”

Posted on: July 20th, 2015 by Mario Ferrero

After two years of journeys, always with the company of a large and involved audience, Buone Visioni is proud to present the third edition of a film exhibition entitled Il Castello Errante, that will take place from June, 14, to July, 19, 2015, in the courtyard of the Roddi Castle. Six evenings to tell stories that go against the flow, to tell six lives that are a little out of focus, people who live next door and hide entire universes. And we will discover together that, sometimes, the world around us is a bit too small place. There will be something to eat and drink and, above all, there will be our movies.

BuoneVisioni

Organized by the Association of the National Museum of Cinema of Turin, and with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Roddi and the Barolo & Castles Foundation, Buone Visioni offers art films under the stars of Langhe, movies that we loved for their bold spirit and which may go unnoticed. Before the screenings, there will be diners organized by the association LaCasaRotta of Cherasco with new and surprising gastronomic solutions, that mix local ingredients and culinary traditions from around the world.

Not only good cinema and good food. Buone Visioni also includes proposals of books, interviews to the public, movie reviews, as well as visits to the castle, the beautiful setting of the event, to complete a unique and engaging experience.

Strada del Barolo organizes a special Wine Tasting Experience® and an inter-regional dinner to celebrate the twinning between the two territories.

Immagine2

By virtue of the common wine and food vocation and the beauty of the respective landscapes, both dominated by beautiful castles and natural scenery, Comitato per la valorizzazione dei castelli delle Langhe e del Roero and Parchi del Ducato di Parma e Piacenza together with Unione Montana Appennino Parma Est are about to sign a twinning, supported by Fondazione CRC, which will materialize throughout 2015 with a series of exchanges between the two areas hosting each other during the respective territory fairs: on 23rd and 24th May in Alba, during the “Spring of culture, taste and wine” and on 2nd June at the Medieval Festival of Torrechiara (in the province of Parma).

To celebrate the twinning, which will be formalized in Alba on the weekend of 23rd and 24th May 2015, Strada del Barolo is planning a special Wine Tasting Experience® in the Barolo Castle and a dinner with an inter-regional menu at the restaurant “La Crota” of Roddi. Both initiatives will be held on Saturday, 23rd May, while on Sunday, 24th May, the castles of Langhe and Roero and the territories of Piacenza and Parma will present themselves in Piazza Risorgimento in Alba with activities for children and adults.

Furthermore, the cooperation between the two entities includes the realization of educational tours and training sessions, an exchange of visibility on the respective websites and the joint promotion of the two territories for what concerns the foreign market.

Treasure Hunt in the Langa of Barolo®

Posted on: May 3rd, 2014 by Mario Ferrero

On Thursday 1st May 2014, as part of the Spring of culture, taste and wine season” and the 38th edition of Vinum, the small and enchanting hamlets and hills in the heart of the Langhe of Barolo will be the location of the 5th annual “Treasure Hunt”, organized by Turismo in Langa, with the cooperation of Strada del Barolo, the City of Alba and several municipalities.

Locandina Caccia al Tesoro2

The format is that of a traditional treasure hunt, with a distinctive trait that makes it really special: the itinerary, along which the hints will be hidden, twists and turns along a hill-dotted territory, unique in the world (and it is no accident that it has been nominated to become a Unesco world heritage site), among breathtaking landscapes. Hills painted with vineyards, historical cellars, castles and small hamlets, dominate this land of great beauty.

We are at the heart of the deepest part of the Barolo Langhe, among the crus and the cellars which produce Barolo and other extraordinary wines; renowned and appreciated all over the world. Of course, the first stop will be among the stands of Vinum, in Alba.

The proposal is for all wine-tourists, wine-lovers and for those who love to spend a day doing something different with friends and family in Langa, surrounded by artistry and natural beauty. The itinerary of the treasure hunt should be done by car or motorcycle, to allow participants to visit a good portion of the Langhe territory. However, this – and this is very important! – is not a competition: the aim is to spend the day with good company and discover the region and its precious resources, without competing to arrive back first. The Treasure Hunt in the Barolo Langa has to be experienced rather than played; the game is simply the engine that drives exploration and discovery.

The hints spread throughout the territory; all inspired by wine and food, popular traditions and the history of this emotional land, will be the garnish for a “full-immersion” in the spirit and the “art de vivre” of Langhe, which will allow you to breath, right up until the end, its special atmosphere, which the world envies of the inhabitants of these hills.

The Treasure Hunt will be organized so that the teams (between 1 and 5 participants per team; in one car or a motorcycle) can be divided into different itineraries, which will be similar in terms of characteristics, attractiveness and length. The stop-overs will allow everybody, both wine-lovers and families with children, to have fun and enjoy the day according to their own interests.

Prospective teams should send their subscription to the Treasure Hunt by 29th April, by calling Turismo in Langa on 0039 0173 364030 or by sending an email to info@turismoinlanga.it.

The registration fee is €40 per car-team (a team travelling by car can consist of between 2 and 5 people) or 25 euros for a motorcycle-team (a team with a motorcycle can be made up of between 1 and 2 people).

“Furthermore – says the president – each night will be a unique occasion to taste up to 9 different glasses of Barolo in the village where this amazing wine was born and also a good reason to experience (or re-experience) some restaurants that are celebrated well outside Barolo’s boundaries.
