Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno
Via Crosia 12, Tenuta Cannubi, Barolo CNSince 1897 we produce Barolo in the heart of Cannubi, in family.
Our roots date back to the mid-nineteenth century, when the Cavalier Francesco Borgogno began producing his own wine, selling it in the small tavern of his wife in Barolo. At the time of his death he left the family house and cellar to Lodovico Borgogno. At that time these were located in the historical centre of Barolo. In that house Lodovico passed on to his sons Serio and Battista the art of wine-making and the deep love for his land. At his death Serio and Battista Borgogno inherited some land and a small farmhouse in Cannubi. With immense effort and hard work they managed to turn a dream into reality: building their house and their winery on top of Cannubi, buying more vineyards all around for a total of 3 ha, in the heart of Cannubi.
Now, as ever, our winery wants to keep an absolutely familiar character: in the vineyard we cultivate our vineyards, as if they were our garden: our work follows the natural growth cycle of the vine adapting to the different climatic needs of the vintage. In the cellar: fermentation in wooden vats with long maceration and we only use large barrels in Slavonian oak 2500-5000 liters for long aging, as evidenced by tradition.
