Sunday, September 27^th 2015: loop path between Serralunga and Sinio, with a break in the “Royal Hamlet”.

The hiker group of the Italian Sport Center – Alba committee, in collaboration with “Compagnia del Nostro Teatro” and “Associazione Pro Loco di Sinio” will organize “Narrare camminando”: a loop path starting from Serralunga d’Alba, a brief break in Sinio with professor Accigliaro’s speech, and to the Royal Hamlet, where the “Compagnia del Nostro Teatro” will play some funny scene from their repertory. At the end if you wish you can enjoy our “merenda sinoira”, a typical light dinner in a local restaurant.

The famous Piedmont “Cugnà”, a wine must jam served with local cheese and traditional dishes, will be the star attraction in Serralunga d’Alba from September 25^th to September 27^th. 

Friday, September 25^th from 7.30pm: Gala dinner with local boiled beef and wine producers from Serralunga. The orchestra “I Roeri” will provide a musical accompaniment for the event. Cost of the dinner: € 18,00, beverages included (for reservation: +39 339 6893244).

Sunday, September 27^th from 9.00am: for the entire day the historical center will host a local market with typical products. Here you will be able to participate in making Cugnà and to taste it.

From 12.00pm: food stand with appetizers, polenta, boiled beef, cheese and dessert, everything served with Cugnà and Serralunga wines. Cost of the lunch: € 20,00 beverages included (for reservation: +39 339 6893244).

At 4.00pm: award ceremony of the most genuine person in Serralunga.

Saturday, September 19^th: narrated tours, aperitifs and buffet with Turismo in Langa and Langa Medievale.

Turismo in Langa and Langa Medievale, in cooperation with the Municipality of Castiglione Falletto and Le Torri restaurant are proposing an evening under the banners of history, culture, wine and food.

In the village of Castiglione Falletto a narrated guided tour of discovery will be proposed, in an engaging and entertaining way, with secrets, tales, and anecdotes of one of the most enchanting centres of the Lange area near Alba, also thanks to the interventions by Le Spire del Lupo. Participants will be toured by a qualified guide.

The event commences at 6.30pm at the restaurant Le Torri, in piazza Vittorio Veneto 10 where aperitifs with a rich buffet will be served to all visitors. Then the tour will begin and will consist of a loop around the village and will feature the most significant attractions of Castiglione.

The visit will end in the garden of the Medieval castle, which has been reopened to the public this year. The reopening is a unique chance for the local community to regain possession of its historical heritage, but also for visitors who will have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular 360° panoramic view across Langa.

The participation fee is 15 Euros per person and includes aperitifs, a buffet with appetizers and finger food, a guided tour and additional entertainment. Admission is free for children under three, with a discount for children between three and ten years of age (10 Euros).

The buffet dinner and tour will last about an hour and half, and will still be held in poor weather.

Friday 4^th, 11^th and 18^th September 2015: the Barolo Crus will be revealed in three special events with the tasting presented from the top of the castle of Serralunga d’Alba. 

The Castle of Serralunga d’Alba celebrates the grape harvest with a night of unprecedented visits which will allow participants to discover the rooms of the castle, the surrounding area and its wines in an original and engaging way.

There will be two events each evening, at 7pm and 8pm, in a summery atmosphere, for a special tasting of Barolo in the presence of its places of origin, for right here in Serralunga, the King of wines finds particularly suitable fields and some of the best and most historic Crus of the entire production area, with the castle having a strong bond with the surrounding territory, itself an expression of extraordinary wines.

All this, besides the usual opening hours, in the company of a tour guide and expert in winemaking who will tell the audience anecdotes and curiosities about the wine to taste, offered by the producers of the Bottega del Vino Serralunga.

THE VISIT

The visit will start from the garden, and then continue to the wall-walk behind the castle battlements on the highest floor, initially protected by merlons, still visible today, which were then covered by a roof. At the end of the visit, with the sun still high on the horizon, it will be possible to admire the entire territory of Bassa Langa, Low Langa, with a 360° view, and spot the Barolo production areas as well as the landscape marked by regular and orderly vineyards.

The guide will enchant visitors by telling anecdotes and trivia about the castle’s history and its close relationship with local farming activities, from the Middle Ages to Luigi Einaudi, a great wine lover who donated the castle to the state, who it still belongs to, now entrusted to the care of Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e Paesaggistici del Piemonte, regional board for the protection of architectural heritage and the landscape of Piedmont.

The guided tour will end at the top floor, where it will be possible to “read the landscape” together with the guide who will also describe the two wines served in stem-glasses and from producer members of Bottega del Vino di Serralunga d’Alba.

The event is promoted by Barolo & Castles Foundation and Comitato Castelli DOC Langhe e Roero, in accordance with Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e Paesaggistici.

Saturday, July 25th 2015,  Bossolasco

The enchanting Piazza XX Settembre, in front of the majestic church of St. John the Baptist, and next to the Angel of Alta Langa, will host the 10^th edition of Cheese under the Stars, an outdoor evening dinner organized by the Pro Loco of Bossolasco, board of tourist development, during which four courses prepared with cheese will be served paired with four local wines, three of which coming from producers of  Strada del Barolo.

One speaker, food and wine expert, will guide participants to discover flavours and fragrances, while the wine and cheese producers will be available to diners to explain  the characteristics of their products.

A concert of live music will help to create the romantic atmosphere of an evening characterized by the soft light of street lamps and candles, and a rose placed at the centre of each table, by tables set with dark blue tablecloths, fine porcelain plates and crystal glasses.

The most awaited summer festival returs to Barolo from 17th to 21st July 2015: take the opportunity for a tour in the Langhe region!

The most awaited litterature and music agri-rock festival of Italy will take place from 17th to 21st July in Barolo, mecca of Italian wine, in the wonderful setting of the Langhe region, a UNESCO heritage, a natural stage that will host, in its squares, music, meetings, dialogues with Nobel Price winners, Italian and international music stars. In an informal atmosphere with debate and crossover among the arts, the protagonists will be writers, philosophers but also musicians that normally performs in stadiums and that here, in Barolo, will take the floor as narrators and poets, to investigate together the genesis and the literary influences that contributed to the creation of great songs.
