On Saturday, May 3, 2025, the Strada del Barolo in collaboration with Vinum organizes a guided tour through some of the most famous MGA – Additional Geographical Mentions of Barolo in the municipal territory of Castiglione Falletto. The visit will conclude with the tasting of the three Barolo wines from the vineyards visited.
Located in the center of the Barolo production area, the municipality of Castiglione Falletto boasts vineyards of absolute prestige including Monprivato, Rocche di Castiglione, and Brunella. The tour is dedicated to passionate wine lovers interested in learning about the factors that determine the character and the infinite nuances that Barolo can assume.
The geological composition of the soil, exposure, slope, and altitude combine with the human factor to determine the character of this great wine: these factors can be summarized with the term “cru,” a word borrowed from French, which indicates the portion of a vineyard with peculiar characteristics, a unique microclimate, and – indispensable and decisive – the work of man. A magical microcosm capable of making each wine unique.
The purpose of the tour is to make this concept understandable in a simple and “experiential” way, through a walking route to discover three Barolo vineyards, accompanied by a professional sommelier and naturalistic guide, to learn about the peculiarities of the soil, climate, and human work that have determined the characteristics found in the glass.
The tour will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, with a meeting point to be reached by own means with the guide at 8:45 am at Piazza Vassallo in Castiglione Falletto (CN), departure at 9:00 am, visit to the crus of Castiglione Falletto and arrival at the Boroli Winery around 11:00 am, where the tasting of the three wines will take place:
The activity is expected to end around 12:30 pm.
